Letter from the Interim Head of School
April 23, 2022
Greetings BCA families,
It is with great joy and excitement that I write this letter to you. I am deeply honored and thankful for the opportunity to serve and lead as Interim Head of School for the upcoming school year. I am most appreciative of the warm welcome and vote of confidence I have received from many of you in the short time since the announcement was made. Thank you. I look forward to meeting and engaging with all of you in the weeks and months to come. I will share more about the plans and vision for our school at the meeting on Monday. For now, please allow me to share a little bit about my family.
I am a native of Nelson County who God saved at the age of 22, the same day he saved my husband. We will be celebrating our 20 year anniversary this year and we are members of Parkway Baptist Church. The beauty of Classical Christian Education became known to us when God led us to a small school in Savannah, Georgia called The Habersham School. I attended Midway University for my undergraduate degree and The University of Kentucky where I earned a Masters in Education, but it was The Habersham School that showed me how my faith, parenting, passions, and education could so beautifully compliment each other. And so, my professional and parenting journey has continued in this realm. We have 3 children: Ezra, Judah, and Nora. Nora will be attending BCA next year as an 8th grader. Ezra and Judah are in High School, but I am sure they will find ways to integrate into our life at BCA.
Change is not usually comforting. We hunger for order, stability, and routines especially in the absence of them. But I am reminded that it is the Lord who establishes our steps and it is the purpose of the Lord that stands. Let us look back at our lives and into His Word to be reminded of His faithfulness as we press on towards this new season for BCA. It is my pledge and pleasure to continue to pray for your children, for you, for our school. As we continue to thoughtfully and transparently navigate the transitions that are taking place, let’s live in a spirit of thanksgiving and unity, knowing that our steps and purpose are at the mercy of our God.
I strongly encourage you to attend the meeting on Monday, April 25th at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary at Parkway Baptist Church. We have much to share with you and we are looking forward to addressing your questions. Additionally, I will be spending more time at BCA in the coming weeks. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me for any reason. Enjoy your weekend!
